Kali’s Tongue

Sometimes, I have to write it down just to get the thoughts out of my head, so I can move on. This is one of those posts, no great claims of insight – just an making space.

This shift, in the quiet moments of absorption in the landscape, or getting on with something around the house that doesn’t require much thought, Kali has been sticking Her tongue in my face. Most religious iconography leaves me cold, but this image woke me up in the wee hours today with a shock of realization that this is not ancient history or fabulation, but a depiction of what is about to happen.

Kali, the most fearsome force of Nature – Shakti – imaginable, is going to mop up the hoards of ignorant mindlessly breeding clones with her lolling tongue and she is going to relish ever minute of it. This is not an external force, as you are part of Nature. Whether male or female Nature is in you, just as you are in Nature.

I had the vivid memory of how I used to be consumed with mindless, uncontrollable rage, on occasion. I smashed things and people and got smashed back many times. I couldn’t handle the rage and I didn’t like the feeling of it owning me. It took me years to ‘control’ what I considered to be an ugly, undesirable part of my character. Ultimately, the breakthrough was nothing more than recognizing the source of my rage – the destructive force of the Planetary Animal Mother – and it is my rage too. It is always both/and rather than either/or.

In the classical image Shiva represents the act of recognition and surrender to this necessarily destructive force of Nature. And the will, the strength of character that enables you to know yourself in any situation, is also in each of us. There is no shame on Kali’s clearing up the mess and no desperation to stop her from Shiva. Why should she be ashamed of ridding the world of self-replicating demons? Who or what is he supposed to be trying to save? He just sees her untamed awesomeness and throws himself on the ground – stamp on me too baby – and she does and they both enjoy the hell of it, and the mood passes.

More and more people today are feeling the force of Kali raging through them, but they don’t know it’s source and neither do they know themselves – no Shiva. No Thelete, in the language of the Sophianic Vision Story. This is what you are seeing in the rabid, irrational and delusional leftist mobs who cannot tolerate anyone who disagrees with their ignorant beliefs, even as they contradict themselves with every word. Kali’s destructive force will destroy them from within, but they will try to take you down with them. The best thing to do is keep out of the way.

Kalikas, devotees of Kali, learn how to handle her rage and how to aim it, because they know its source, and their own origins too.  This is the best protection you can have.
